This is achieved through a multi step process where a steel sheet is immersed in pure molten zinc at a very high temperature bonding the zinc to the steel.

But nevertheless steel sheet has advantages. The combination of aluminum and zinc is used once again as a protective layer to the steel. This is known as a galvanized metal. Aluminum is a metal whereas galvanized steel is obtained by a hot dipping process in which carbon steel is dipped into zinc.
