Fusion 360 supports this action. When applying the insert bends feature located on the sheet metal toolbar or from the insert dropdown menu under sheet metal solidworks tells us a non linear edge at the seam of this cone is invalid. There is no option to access the sheet metal tab in the fusion 360 design toolbar. Create a single line sketch that would represent the desired curve starting from in this example the nose of the cone and traveling to the base.

In the tutorial video we re presented with a cone designed with the revolve shell and cut extrude features. If sheet metal does not appear there enable parametric modeling mode by capturing design history. Then shell the cone to make it hollow. The process is called revolve.

Right click on the top component of the design in the browser tree. But fusion 360 doesn t just integrate the process from design to flat pattern. Create only one half of the nose cone curve and maintain a standard axis reference say using the y axis as the rotation point. In the new ui the sheet metal environment is located in the tabs above the icons.

Fusion 360 is the only tool to integrate design to manufacture.
